Bikes without Borders 

Maintaining a sense of community throughout the decades has always been a part of Amsterdam's DNA. Whether at our former location on Bathurst St. or in our current home in Leaside, giving back to Torontonians through charitable donations, supporting events or just helping out our local businesses, has always been at the heart of how we operate.

In 2020, we began the journey to find ways to assist in a cause that we could be passionate about. We searched for a charity to support that spoke to us on a personal level as well as one that would serve the communities of Toronto. After much deliberation, we realized the answer was right in front of us all along. We are passionate about bikes! Always have been. Our founder was from Amsterdam, where bikes are more common than cars. Many of our brands feature bicycles in both name and imagery. It only made sense that we find a bicycle-related charity to partner with, and Bikes Without Borders was the perfect match!

Where the Magic Happens!

We now have a fully functional Bicycle workshop at the Brewery to facilitate the great work that our friends from Bikes Without Borders perform.

Since our partnership began, we have been able to see hundreds of Torontonians receive bikes, as a result of the donations from the people of our fine city. Allowing for a higher level of independence and improvement of the quality of life for so many individuals and families in need.

Our Brewery is always thankful for your unwanted bicycles which can be dropped at our Leaside location (45 Esandar Drive) where our team of bike technicians will repair and get your old bike into working condition and primed for donation.

About the Charity

Bikes Without Borders provides bicycles and bike-related solutions to empower individuals in marginalized communities through mobility. They believe in the humble bicycle as a means to increase access to vital community services and networks that allow individuals to meet their basic needs and build better lives.

Bikes Without Borders is focused on outfitting refugees and low-income families living in underserved Toronto communities with refurbished bicycles through The Great Bike Recycle.
